The glass refrigerator usually seems like a great idea whenever you hear about it. Think of all the benefits! You can easily look through your fridge to see what you have instead of opening the door and wasting all that energy. While this is very true, consider the main detractor from the clear door idea: You need to keep your fridge in perfect order at all times. Think about it, while most people don’t have fancy glass doors, they can have their fridge however messy they want and just close the door. That’s not the case for those with the see through appliance.
If you’re still interested in going through with this, that is good. This means that you have considered the pros and cons, and that after weighing them, have decided that the pros outweigh the cons and that you would seriously benefit from this classy look. In that case, what style are you looking for? As the glass look has become increasingly popular, manufacturers have taken note and are making them in just about all the styles of standard opaque doors. For example, LG, Excellence, and Avanti make a compact mini fridge with a clear door primarily for holding beverages. Northland manufacturers a side by side style where the contents of the fridge are behind glass and those of the freezer are not. Haier, Frigidaire, and Summit make the commercial styles you’ll see at some restaurants, as well as the traditional under counter and counter depth styles you’ll put in your home. Other styles are available in with these special doors, as well. The French door with bottom freezers are out there that will save you from opening your door every time you’re a little hungry. They are not usually available in portable models, as that would be an accident waiting to happen.
Although this seems like it would not be a wise idea, there are outdoor propane fridges with clear doors as well. If you’re very careful, this can work, but there are also many cases of the door quickly getting broken. So what is the best model?
