Large refrigerators come in all shapes, sizes, styles, and prices. This great selection of options seems like it would be a good, because it will allow you to get exactly what you want in a fridge. However, when you take a step back, you might be a little overwhelmed. Keep in mind that you have a kitchen that is not going to change. Some appliances will look go in it and frankly, some won’t. If you take an objective approach to making the right choice, your kitchen will look like you envisioned it. If you focus too much on the fridge itself, you might get sidetracked, and although your new machine looked fantastic on the showroom floor, it possibly wasn’t the right fit for you.
Take into account how much space you truly have. It’s a common mistake to over or underestimate what you can fit. I can’t stress the fact enough that you need to measure. Some cabinets are not designed with the creative kitchen designer in mind. For example, many people want a big counter depth fridge that will not jut out past anything else in the cabin. Believe me, it looks a lot worse when everything is the same depth and the fridge is either a little too short or a little too long. Never assume that any appliance will fit a space.
When you’re ready with your measurements in hand, you can check out the fridges. Maytag, General Electric, LG, Built, Frigidaire, Whirlpool, HotPoint, Bosch, and Samsung all manufacture excellent big refrigerators. They offer varying price ranges, but the general trend is that Samsung and LG are the most expensive (and usually offer the most features, along with the most polished aesthetics). You have many options of styles available as well. There are large versions of all the standard styles, including side by side, French door (complete with bottom freezer), commercial, and outdoor. Believe it or not, you can even find larger versions of compact and mini fridges, if you need to keep your food cool on the go but have a lot of it. The metal and stainless steel styles are also popular, and are also available in very big sizes.
If you enjoy wine, particularly white wine, and you drink a lot of it, you are probably right to invest in a bigger wine ice box. They make standard size wine cooler fridges for oenophiles. If you think about how they’re only holding wine, you’ll realize how huge they are.
